Attaining Board Certification in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork represents the pinnacle of professional achievement for a massage therapist, surpassing the basic requirements of state licensure. This certification signifies a commitment to excellence, extended education, and elevated standards of practice and ethics, all endorsed by The National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB).
As a Board Certified practitioner, I am part of a distinguished community that exceeds standard educational and professional experience prerequisites, demonstrating a lifelong dedication to continuing education. To achieve this certification, I provided evidence of a minimum of 750 hours of education, 250 hours of hands-on work experience, successfully passed a criminal background check, committed to upholding NCBTMB's Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics, and successfully passed the Board Certification Exam (BCETMB). This accomplishment underscores advanced assessment and critical thinking skills, reinforcing my unwavering commitment to excellence. I proudly carry the BCTMB credentials, signifying not only personal pride but a dedication to the highest standards for both my profession and, most importantly, my clients.
Certified by the Academy of Lymphatic Studies in Manual Lymphatic Drainage and Lymphedema Management, I possess expertise in treating lymphedema and various related conditions. As an NCBTMB provider offering continuing education, I focus on imparting a comprehensive understanding of the lymphatic system to fellow therapists.
I teach advanced courses in Manual Lymphatic Drainage and Lymphedema Maintenance (Vodder, Chikly), Myofascial Release (Barnes, Rontall), Trigger Point Therapy (Travell & Simons), and more. Each year, I travel to teach for esteemed organizations such as AMTA, LMT Success Group, and through my independent business, delivering quality instruction in specialized therapeutic techniques.
I hold a license under Ohio's rigorous massage licensing standards for more than two decades and have served as an instructor for over ten years. Presently, I am actively engaged in teaching at the Dayton Medical Massage School Lima campus.
